This may well be a moot point if De Waard don't ship to the UK. I've emailed Vrijbuiter and I'm waiting for a reply, but maybe someone on here knows.

After many years of looking at these tents on line, and a trip to Vrijbuiter several years ago we are going to take the plunge and buy ourselves a De Waard.

We are a family of 4, kids are now 9 and 10.

We currently have a Cabanon Guadeloupe which I love, but its just getting a wee bit small for the four of us. We are camping for 17 nights in North Wales next month I have decided that this is the time to upgrade and enlarge.

Do I go for an Albatros or the Vergrote Zilvermeeuw?

I have always wanted an Albatros, the single pole design is much more pleasing that the two poles, but is it big enough?

Looking at floor plans it's even bigger (width wise) than the Cabanon Barbados which is their 6 man pyramid, but I really don't want to feel squashed in the bedroom.

Am I going to regret not going for the even bigger Zilvermeew?

Can anyone tell me what the 'Albatros Gordijnset albatros' is? is It a footprint groundsheet?

Is the best combination of additions the two windshields and then the varioluifel?

Thanks in advance. It's such a huge spend on a tent (joint 40th birthday presents to each other) I want to make the right decision.

IMHO, the Albatros is not that much bigger than the Guadeloupe, and I would be inclined to go bigger and get the Vergrote Zilvermeeuw instead.

Hi Slubber,
Not sure if you still need the translation but
Gordijnset = a set of curtains.
Gordijnen = Curtain .

Not sure if its a set of curtains for a window ...or if its a set of curtains ...like a partition for sleeping area. Would have to see how it was used in the whole text.

i think its the door window curtains because the Albatros has an inner tent

I'd ask if / when they do a sale at any point? I noticed on their Facebook page that last year (65th anniversary) their classic tents had 20% off and 50% off all accessories!
