Hi
we have an outwell vermount xlp.we went to France for the first time and also our first time to camp ever and loved every minute of it .Love our tent but we were looking maybe to get a tent the would do just as an over night on our journey through France that would be quick to pitch and would not cost a great deal and fit a family of five,it a lot of work to pitch a tent just for a night to have to take down again in morning when we be doing a stop over and to camp the night before we get the ferry home
many Thanks

can't beat a tepee for simple to pitch - and although I wouldn't normally recommend a single skinned tent, for a warm climate it should be fine. Search for CampFeuer® - Tipi on Amazon UK
Hi!
We too have the Vermont xlp and last year tackled this very dilemma. We bought a vango Icarus 500 as our overnight tent which worked very well for 4 of us and may well fit 5 of you for just as one night stop.
The pack size is the important thing especially when taking 2 tents, but we have quite a big boot and a very large roofbox. We now use this tent for weekends in the uk, so it was cost effective as not just for stopovers and we got it for less then £150 in the sale last year.
This year I have to say we are using budget hotels so that we can be on the road longer -the tent stopover was good fun but don't think it worked out much cheaper really.
Might not be what you want to hear
