We're a family of 4 who have camped a few times. We love the idea but actually we've never had a great time when we're there...maybe you can help?
Firstly, I've got Rhuematoid arthritis. The joint pain isn't too bad but I get incredibly sleepy. I'm wondering if I'm sleeping really badly at night and that may be an issue. We currently use an Vango self inflating mattress- can anyone recommend anything else to try?
Secondly, our son has autism and the tent feels too cluttered for him. How can we keep it tidyish without increasing the amount of stuff we take? Any storage ideas greatly received!
We've currently got a 2010 model of the outwell montana 6. We've got an awning and an extension, carpet etc so it's really lovely. But it's heavy to move (I can't move it by myself) and causes me some fairly considerable discomfort as I help to put it up. The new air based tents seem like a great idea to us and I've been eyeing up the Outwell Concorde L to use with an extension. Any thoughts? Though I do wonder if a 3rd bedroom might help with the clutter issue (as in, we can zip it all away and son needn't stress!)but I wouldn't want the tent to get much bigger than the montana (which already feels massive).
Lastly, if we were to re-look at the tent, would we get much for the monty? What sort of resale would you expect for a tent in great condition with carpet, footprint, extension and awning? I've had a look on ebay etc but there aren't many about at the moment!
Thanks for any help, it's really appreciated. We really want to love camping and I'm sure we will once we get it all right :D

I've seen the Concorde L, the living space is very big and airy, but the bedrooms area seemed quite small in my opinion, once you've got the beds in there isn't much room left.
Can't help on the other things sorry, hope you get sorted x
I have arthritis in my spine, hips and knees and find sleeping on a camp bed with SIM on top and my Raskelf Duvalay ensures I get a good nights sleep.
I use plastic storage boxes for clothes which store neatly under the folding camp beds. In the living area I use 2 sets of plastic drawers.
The bigger the tent, the heavier it is going to be. Only you can decide what tent and layout will work best for you and your family, so I would suggest going to look at as many tents as you can to give you an idea of size and whether it will work for you before parting with your cash.
With regards to selling your current tent set up, it is really only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Personally when buying second hand, I never pay more than 50% of what it would cost me new.
