I guess you will get plenty of advice on the best tent to suit, sadly I've not really looked lately to see what's what,
What I would say is use your budge t to the Max !
ie as for the footprint just buy a cheap tarp for now or possibly use the one from existing tent if you have one?
Carpet again same senario or use picnic blankets for starters?
Ie Make do for now?
It will relase more cash towards the tent !
Sell your existing tent releasing more cash?

Are any of the kids big enough yet to have their own pup tent? That would solve one of your problems anyway.
