We have an Icarus 500 but after a recent trip have decided a canopy would aid in times of bad weather for cooking etc. thinking that a canopy without groundsheet would be necessary and have seen that although Vango used to make a open canopy the current model is enclosed at the front. Being complete camping novices would this still be suitable for cooking under if weather is bad? Have read that the groundsheet is loose in the enclosed canopy but any advice from current owners much appreciated!

I have one that is enclosed but doesn't have a groundsheet, discontinued now but maybe possible to find on ebay. It was called the Vango Premium Extension. I prefer no groundsheet because you can hang a wet coat over the back of a chair and let it drip on to the grass.

I have this canopy and had my kitchen set up in there and used it in problem.
The groundsheet is optional too

The canopy for the Icarus is called an awning and has a zipped front door, mine came with a groundsheet. Purchased a month or so ago from Go Outdoors in Coatbridge
