After a few trips this year we have decided that we need a really quick pitch weekend tent to just allow us to pitch and go as quickly as possible. The only trouble is it does need to sleep 2 adults and four children .I'm not too worried about a large living area but need room to sleep comfortably. We can't afford the air beam tents so they are a no no any one have any suggestions?

Quechua Family XL from Decathlon? I have an older version of this pop up and it's pretty quick pitch - easy to put down again once you've got the knack.

I looked at the Quecha but it's only a four berth and I'd rather not have two separate tents from a pitch pricing point of view and would want all of us together or does the Quecha join up?

Budget has to be as good value as possible within £300.00 .We currently have a large 10 berth dome tent which we love but takes about half an hour to forty minutes to b pitch with all the pegging to be done which is fine for long trips but putting me off going on quick weekend trips.

Forty minutes for such a large tent is pretty quick. No matter what quick erect/pop up/ air tent, you are still going to need time to peg out properly.

I think you should be proud of how quickly you can pitch your current tent.

I like the Khyam quick erect system, not really for the speed of pitching but more because I know I can handle the tent on my own. I also prefer the stability of metal poles.

Will watch this thread with interest to see what suggestions are made.

Good luck.

I know we do get it sorted quickly thinking about it I'm just impatient and want the whole process to be done and dusted in a short space of time. Maybe I need to look at equipment we take to get the most from weekend trips.

We definitely trim down our camping gear for weekend trips, SIM's are a must, less storage boxes, less clothes etc all speed up the process of "getting sorted".

I like to think we travel light but when there are four children to pack for just the clothes and pillows alone take a fair bit of room!

how old are the kids, they should be helping you, can't see you cutting the time much below half an hour, with another tent. I would work on your routine.
We were on holiday this year and witnessed a family of 6 turn up at about 7pm, they all piled out of the car and like a team of ants all went about their business, by 8pm they were completely set up and dinner was on. Everyone had their own job and knew what it was, on Sunday morning it all went away just as quick.
