do you think it is a good buy with regards to price, weight and pitching time??
currently have a maritsa 700 but love the canvas tents and cabanon barbados was our first choice then touareg second until i came across the palamos 6.
maritsa is ok but struggle to put up on my own, packed size is big even with separate pole bag so thought any of the above would be good and with the palamos at 532 notes nearly half of the barbados seems a good buy but i might be wrong??
We love our Palamos 6 and think it was great value, I'm an unfit 5ft 4 female and with the canvas (with groundsheet zipped on) in the wheeled Maritsa 700 bag find it easy to drag to the car and 'hump' in the boot of the car, the pole bag is much lighter and I just carry that. As I said we've never timed pitching it although thinking about it only done this 3 and a half times so should get faster. I still wouldn't want to attempt to pitch this on my own even with the help of my 8 & 10 year olds.
I expect the 1 hour stated is for first timers taking their time with children running around, 2 experienced adults wanting to get it pitched ASAP without any children I would expect to take half that time.
yes they charge for shipping, it's around £10 for just a tent, if you add what you want to the basket and then click checkout it will tell you the shipping costs in the summary box on the right.

Something that's sort of bothering me about the obelink prices and debating buy now or later is that most of what they sell on the site has been reduced by 50% and more. Now don't know about anyone else but I'm wondering if that is so at some point they will go back up in price.?

As far as I have seen, the 50% "reduction" is a permanent feature - i.e. the inflated "list price" seems to be a marketing trick. If they charged the full price for their pyramid tents they would be competing head-to-head with premium brands like Cabanon and Esvo.
We love our Palamos and I've pitched it 6 or 7 times this summer; 3 times on my own. With 2 of you we've gone from bag to mug of tea in 40 minutes fully furnished when rain looked likely!
Big tents are always easier with two but with the Palamos you want 2 for the front frame and two guys. After that put the main pole up and mid frame. Split up so one works inside doing furniture, carpet, sleeping pods while the other pegs out.
For long stays we use the Obelink Wing tarp for a big porch.
This tent is great value for money; the material is similar quality to Cabanon but the finishing, zips, etc are where the money is saved IMHO.

2 1/2 years ago I bought the Eldorado Pyramid from Obelink. Worked out at about £220 which is a lot cheaper than a Cabanon equivalent but you don't get Cabanon quality. However I have nothing but praise for the tent.
The only downside is 48 pegs, bit of an over kill. However it only takes me about 30 mins to pitch solo, a bit less if raining.
The 50% discount is permanent.
If I remember rightly from order to delivery was a matter of a few days with online Tracker service.
