Hi I can't comment on the colour difference as I purchased mine together with my Vermont to make sure they matched , however what I can say it makes the tent huge. We use ours as the side entrance so that there is cover from the rain etc... The only thing I dislike is that for almost £400, there are no curtains which is a shame as it makes an extra room so sleep over guests.
However for long stays it is great and I'm glad we purchased it
