Hi all,

My better half, myself and our 4 legged friend (German shepard) are doing the west highland way this September and are on the lookout for a suitable tent for us all to stay in after a long days walking.

The tent needs to be no more than a 4 man and weighing no more than 8kg! We would also like to have room for our outwell possada dbl bed.

Could anyone recomend a tent that fits our requirements?

Cheers all in advance

Got a budget in mind, plenty of lightweight tents out there that meet your requirements but can be expensive. You can get some 3 man tents that are less than 3kg.

Wouldn't really want to spend any more than £150 as I have my regular tents allready, so wouldn't really use it that often. Just for rare occasions like this.

cheers for helping, not sure if there would be room for the bed with the sloping back, worth a look though if I can find one to go have a nosey at.

Ah, I didn't realise the bed was so tall, so you'd be looking at more of a dome tent with more upright walls.

Example looks like it would fit especiall if you sleep from side to side instead of front to back, still under 8kg and considerably cheaper.

Is the weight a definite? we have just bought this Hi Gear Enigma 5 it does weigh 12.48kg but it comfortably sleeps me the wife our 5 year old and our Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

Takes less than 20 minutes to erect and about the same to pack away.

On a personal note we wouldn't use this tent for anymore than 2 maybe pushing 3 nights at a time.

Scooby.

I presume you're not carrying your gear during the day and have a courier transporting it ??

Cheers foam I'll have a proper look through that website later, which tent were you looking at as it just takes me to site.

Hi greenscooby, yes I'm afraid weight is an issue as the courier service we are using has a weight restriction,we have our regular 4 man tent for normal camping but needed the new 1 for when a lightweight tent is needed.

Hi thebiz yeah we will be using couriers.

I was looking at the coleman darwin 4 plus. Seems much larger than other tents and is only 6.2KG and about £90 delivered.

The website lets you sort tents by birth and weight.

I work for Interlink (courier company) and to send a 13kg parcel will cost just under £25.

Go Outdoors do free standard UK delivery on all orders over £50 if that helps at all.
