I have recently purchased skandika 4 nordland tent. i'm having real problems with the securing of the Groundsheet. The instructions I have are totally different to the fittings on my groundsheet. Have contacted skandika and they have sent me a link to exactly the same useless instructions I already have. My fittings have a black strap which hooks together,
similar to a buggy/ wheelchair strap in. A small round metal loop stake and a metal ring and a loop tag for a stake. I have no idea how these are meant to fit together. Anyone have any ideas? Would be really grateful for any advice.

From your description it sounds like a ring-and-pin system where the "pin" fits inside the ferrules on the pole ends, tension adjusted by the strap, tent pegged out using ordinary wire pegs through the fabric loops before being guyed out, possibly using more substantial (if available) pegs?

Thank you hacksaw bob. I've not pitched a tent before so all new to me. Don't understand Ferrals, etc. Could you explain it to me like an idiots guide. Like through each stage. Sorry, must sound so thick.

The following video shows the ring and pin sytem at 2:10. The whole video is a good explanation, it doesn't matter that it's a different make and model.

Ferrules are the short metal sleeves on the end of fibreglass pole sections, as I'm sure you will have now worked out from Campernic's video.

Don't use excessive force on the pole to get the pin in as the pole sections will split quite easily (note: add duct tape to spares kit for temporary repairs ), check that the fabric is pulled evenly over the pole, and if need be, temporarily pull the lower pole away from the next one until pin has been fitted.

Thank you campernic and hacksaw bob. The penny finally dropped with the help from you both. Skandika weren't very helpful at all. They asked me if I'm sure I bought a skandika tent! they were quite arrogant.if they had bothered to give decent instructions it would have been so much clearer.
