How about the Vango Kalu V
quick to pitch, an uncomplicated design and room to stand up in.
tent
However if it's really for four people consider going for a 5 berth instead.
I use a four berth just for me!

Hey,
Probably going to get shot down for this but heyho ;)
We bought a Tresspass 4 man tent from argos in the sales for £45....Currently £70 i think.
I'ts got a pretty good HH of 2000mm......This was tested in Whitby the weekend just gone and it didn't leak a drop. It also stood up amazingly well to the gale force winds we encountered, although i think deltas helped also :)
Takes me on my own about 15 minutes to put up.
Its pretty roomy for a 4 man tent. We can fit a double and single airbed in the main section with room to spare.
All in all its been great and the money we saved has paid for the last 2 camping trips ;)
Ps. Its already been reviewed on Ukcampsite and get great reviews.
Shaun.
Why would you get shot down? If a tent is good for the money then its good for the money. Im new to camping and I know there are pro-campers out there who have top grade tents but who cares. It should be about being happy with what you have :) im going to look at the tent you recommended now :)

We are looking for the same thing; 2/3 nights away at short notice. Decathlon have stopped doing the seconds range, though they have a replacement for £99.
I prefer the look of the Vango because you can setup one large sleeping compartment with two double matts:
http://www.outdoorworlddirect.co.uk/vango-dunkeld-500-tent.html
The measure for how many people can sleep in a tent assumes they are in a mummy style sleeping bag, so you may need to look for 5 man plus as Campernic said.

For one person a 4 man tent is luxurious.
For two is comfortable.
For three it feels cramped.
But for four people it will feel like hell.
You haven't said how many people you wish to camp together or how many rooms you want.
Best always to have some spare space in a tent, consider a 6 man tent for 4 people.
------------- Enjoy the liveliness of the syntax.

We have THIS ONE a Hi Gear Enigma 5 for weekends, takes about 20 minutes to put up, we were lucky and got ours in the GO sale for £130, now currently selling for £170.
Nice sized tent, room for a two nighter, quick to pitch and pack away, and the pack size is ideal 69cm x 29cm, they also sell the extension for it, but as it's just for the 2 nights we didn't bother.
Hope this helps.
Scooby.

I have just returned from a camping trip using my Coleman Da Gama 6 which I have always said is quick and easy to erect. It certainly isn't difficult but from arriving at the campsite to when I could truly say I had finished doing everything and could sit down and relax was over 2 hours. Not all of that time was erecting the tent but although the tent goes up in about 20 minutes single handedly it then takes another half hour at least to peg out the 30 odd pegs and guy ropes, and then all the gear has to go in...folding tables, EHU cable, camp bed etc; all has to be installed.
I feel as if I have spent half my camping break erecting and dismantling the tent and contents so I am now also on the look out for a smaller, maybe 4 man tent, very quick to erect completely including all the pegging, with stand up height and enough room in the living area for at least a table and chairs. Less than £200 (preferably a lot less)
I have looked at quick erect tents on utube but most that claim to be quick erect are only suitable for people no taller than garden gnomes. They never show how long it takes to erect including all the pegging, and they only show them being erected in dead calm conditions. Some of the folding ones, I am sure would be extremely difficult if the wind was blowing.
I am coming to the conclusion there is no such thing as a truly quick erect family sized tent...unless somebody can show me otherwise.
