I have been reading the forums a lot recently on my quest to find the perfect tent.
I was adamant on an airbeam tent as pitching with poles and 2 young children do not mix. After reading advice and reviews I was stuck between the OR 6.0XT and the Vango Taiga or Capri 600 XL. Didn't want poly cotton as i don't see the point, if you're going that big a pack size you might as well get a trailer tent or caravan!
I've ended up with the taiga, and after a test pitch this weekend I am happy with the decision. The 6.0XT had too many niggles for me to outweigh the looks of the tent.
Anyway, thanks again for such a great forum and I hope to contribute. Will load some reviews soon too.
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
Glad you like your tent. We have been looking at the Taiga 600xl for the size and layout.
I don't post too often because I'm still very new to camping, so I read a lot as well and find it very helpful.
I've spent a lot of time researching these hedgiemum and would recommend. The only thing I didn't like was no pockets on the pelmets but there's lots inside the pods.
All the other tents had too many things wrong for my liking and I am glad I went with the Taiga. It took me 10 mins to deflate and roll up in the bag. It's big enough for long breaks and small enough packed for short trips.
