Hi

Am struggling to decide between both tents. Both are the 'right' size that i would like… sleeps the family in comfort, large living space and large porch. The only real difference is in price.

Has anyone owned either or have any personal preference?

This would be to replace a tent of similar size with poles, i would like to go AIR now :)

The Kampa air tents have taken a bit of a knocking of late but I would say throw caution to the wind and enjoy a cheaper tent with a premium build quality.
A word of warning about the weight and package size of inflatable tents though....
They are very, very heavy and very large when rolled up.

Haven't got it in the air version, but we have the steel poled Croyde 6. Loads of well thought out space.

I feel sometimes you are paying a bit more for the Outwell name, the Kampas are very good value and I know from experience that Kampa have superb customer service.

We have the air croyde classic, not camped yet but had it up for several days in wind and rain, and a few bits of water but nothing unusual for for weathering a PC tent I think.

The air tents have the built in vestibule, whereas the pole versions do not, it is an add on I think.

We are away in two weeks I will post the review on the tent info.

We are really pleased with it, yes it's very heavy but we have gone from a 43kl tent to one a bit heavier, but it's all in one bag not 3 like our other one.

Yes the pole version just has the canopy, the vestibule is an optional extra!

Hi, we have the Croyde 6 Air - had to send the first one back, but the replacement is fine. I really like it - the layout is perfect for us - taking it camping in 2 weeks time.

We've never had a polycotton - I imagine we would prefer it on the campsite as it would be cooler in the hot weather, but we couldn't afford the expense and I was worried about the additional care required for a polycotton. My plan is never to go inside a polycotton, so I don't know what I'm missing!

We've managed for the last 5 years in Europe with a very cheap polyester tent and coped fine. Suppose my worry is that this year will be the first time with a sewn in groundsheet and the condensation /heat might be worse?

Hi Duffs54 did you have any water pooling around the bottom of the inflatable poles?

Yes just the one by the side door, mopped it up with a towel.

I think it collected there because the base of the beams was lower than the floor pressing into the grass, as we didn't see where the water came in, just where it ended up.

We will take some proofing spray with us just in case, as next week is a mixed bag of weather yay.

I think mine might have come in through the stitching of the velcro under the beam. It was still coming through after we had finished hosing it down and noticed a puddle on the footprint

Thanks Charlielouise, I will keep an eye out as to where it is coming in.

We pitched it in the pubs private garden for 4days, the weather was horrendous, stair rods coming in sideways and very windy. we pitched it and just left it and came back 4 days later so didn't see where the rain might of entered the tent, there wasn't any other spots of water though, so maybe that is what ours might do.

Another friend also pitched their Croyde in the same garden but the pole version, he also had some pools of water more than ours, but when it rained when he was away 3weeks later it didn't leak at all, so I am hoping that this will be the case with ours to.

Going on Tuesday so will post to let you know xxx
