Hi everyone, I'm new on here and new to camping, in fact we've, that's the missus and two children girl 9 and boy 5, never been camping yet. We go next week to a site in West Yorkshire. I got made redundant earlier in the year and decided to invest in a tent for some future family holidays. After a lot of reading decided to get an air tent as we are inexperienced. Also I wanted to sell the whole idea to the missus and anything that makes it sound more easy is a good thing. As others have said the tent package is huge and we needed a roof box as well, this is the one downside to an inflatable. Anyway I wanted to errect the tent first, so as not to turn up on camp and look like a contemplate pillock. However, my garden, although nearly 70 ft long is devided in to sections, the grass area not being big enough for the tent. I decided instead to errect the porch section to get an idea. Although straight forward to inflate, the instructions are very poor and I incorrectly pegged out the groundsheet first only to have to start again. The instructions don't even mention the groundsheet!
My question is this, to anyone who owns one or knows, the porch groundsheet has 3 holes in it! Clearly they fit around the air beam posts. I've been along to my local 'Go Outdoors' which displays the tent but without the porch section. The tent ground sheet does not have holes in it, obviously this would let water in, so how does the porch groundsheet marry up with the main tent. I, possibly wrongly assumed the main tent posts around the door go in to these 3 porch groundsheet holes. Help anyone. Pics would be good. Many thanks from a worried novice camper.
