Hi, my daughter and 3 friends are going to camp out for a couple of nights at the v festival in Aug.
Another friend is lending them a Campus Borneo 5 dome tent. I can't find the hh information on this tent or any info really ! Wondering if anyone has had one or knowledge of one. I just want to make sure it's waterproof enough really. Thank you for any info.

I don't know of it. You could put a waterproofer on it if you were concerned. Nikwax are one of the brands.

If they are concerned get them to bring a lightweight tarp (about a tenner on ebay for a 3m square one but you might have one lying around) and tell them to put it over the tent and peg it down, through the tarp. That'll help make it a bit darker for them too. It'll not look pretty but believe me after two and a half days of festival nobody will have a pretty tent.

Is your friend happy to let this tent go to a festival?

I go to a festival` but go to the family camping area. The main camping area is a bit lively. Tents don't often survive it. My friend told me someone put a roast chicken on his tepee, chicken grease running down the tent.

The youngsters will be fine (they'll have the time of their lives!) but the tent will not necessarily come back, or be up to much if it does come back.

Personally I have an old tent that's got a few minor things wrong with it, that I lend my kids for festivals - and if it doesn't come back I won't be gutted.

Thanks Campernic, it must be obsolete I reckon. That's a good idea about waterproofing it and tarp, I will look on eBay. The man who is lending them the tent knows it may not come back ;)

I bought a cheap tent for v last year - it got trampled on and covered in ketchup! Good that the friend knows the tent might not come back lol.
