We have a 2006 Outwell Montana 6 with front sun canopy (the
one with a roof but no sides) and we have recently been considering upgrading
to the 2015 Montana 6P.However, Outwell
no longer make the sun canopy and the closest equivalent is the front extension
but from what I can make out from the photos and measurements, it doesn't look
like there is enough room under the extension for two chairs and a small table,
which is where we like to sit on an evening. Is there anyone out there that owns a 6P and front extension who can
advise how practical/useable the extension is?

Got the 6p in 2014 & 2015 (long story of returns) but in the green from GO.
We also have the front awning thingy (one without the door). Not impressed with it. We have never used it in pouring rain to come in the front. On rainy days it could be great. Had plenty of heavy rain when taking down the tent but took down this awning in the dry the day before.
+ve
.Can cook out there when lightly raining.
.stops rain from coming in the huge front door - bad design that door.
. Probably able to have 2 chairs there.
-ve
.Can't really sit out there -though we are a family of 5 including 3 under 10's.
.Can't really store table & chairs outside under here as not big enough.
We have a 2009 Montana and used to have the extension but now have the awning.
We found the extension a huge asset it gave the front door prone to letting in water due to no zip at bottom of door . Bud we also used it to house our kitchen , with windbreak as a barrier.
We thought it was a cracking addition to the Montana !
To be honest I was stupid to sell it!! And long for another one .
I cannot vouch how it fits the new montanas but it's good if used our key as a shelter to main door.

Hopefully somewhere for a weekend in Sept
We have a Montana 6P (2012) and purchased both the Awning 6P and Extension 6P in 2012. We have used them both separately and together. The problem is when Outwell re-designed the Panoramic front, I don’t think they took into account the sloping front takes more space than previous models. In effect other than tinted windows, luminous piping, colours and logos the Extension hasn’t changed in length. They should have made it at least 2 foot longer to make it more useable. If I were you, I would suggest you get only the Awning as you can close it up in bad weather.
