My first post here I think, but been lurking for quite a while here. So, we got our very first tent. Skandika Lyon 5 berth. We went the cheap route as we are not even sure about tent camping yet, so wanted to keep the cost low-hard to sell used tents where I live :-)
We left it in the yard for a rainy night and just checked on it for leakage. It was all dry except for corners and the mains entry point, where we overlooked the open zipper, oops :-)
It seems that the seams on the pegging points are letting the water in. Its either this, or the seam between groundsheet and flysheet is not sealed and water just collected in the pegging corners.
Is there a way I can seal those corners or/and seams with a seam sealer? Is there any particular brand that is recommended?
Thank you!
(I hope I explained this problem properly, as English is not my mother or speaking language)

McNett Seam Sealant from Go Outdoors always works for us. It comes with a built in brush for easy application.
Make sure you work it well into the stitch holes and seams and make sure you leave it to dry fully before you pack away the tent otherwise it might stick to itself. Some people apply a little bit of talc to stop the sticking.
As for the cable entry point, is it not behind a storm flap on the outside, this should protect it even if the zip is open. I suppose if it was windy this might have blown rain under the flap though!
