Hi having just spent 2 weeks camping in our trailer tent In Devon we have decided to go back to a tent.
Numerous reasons for this I find the beds uncomfortable takes hours to put up and take down. My kids don't like sleeping in the pods and I hate not having a sewn in groundsheet.
Found the groundsheet a big issue this year had a lot of bad weather so had soggy flooring which isn't pleasent. We did have a groundsheet down but you don't realise how fantastic sewn in ones are until you don't have one anymore!
We are a family of 7 so need a big tent not sure which tent to go for. Would like One with an extension too.
Would love to hear your recommendations we always use to go look at Yeomans camp shows but they haven't done one in our area this year. Not keen on go outdoors would like to look at other options not always hi gear.
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
The Forest Camping Centre at Bournemouth, always gets good praise on here, finding the right tent can be a challenge.
We have both GoOutdoors and Windfields on our door step, but I ended up travelling 50 miles or so to Catterick Caravans to get the tent that was right for us, that was back in 2008 so the trip was worth it.
We prefer Cotton canvas, it almost came to the point of considering a trip to Holland to look at the De Waard tents.
Always worth a visit to one of the UK Karsten tent displays, I went to one a few years back in Cheshire, and was blown away with the quality, fantastic tents, in a league of there own.
I am 99% certain that the Forest Camping Centre that used to be a stockist for Cabanon tents no longer exists as it used to be. I vaguely remember it has closed its doors and taken over by someone else. However, I could be wrong.

For that many people, I would be inclined to look at vis-a-vis configuration with the option to extend the living area in the middle with an awning.
Such as Vango's Stanford and Cantara 800, and Kampa Watergate 8.

As mentioned in my post, I do not believe it is not run by the same people anymore.
