Since our Gelert Horizon 8 let more water in than a colander this week, DH wants a new tent before we head to Gloucestershire this weekend!

No time for in depth research (would usually visit several displays, followed by days of online research) - seem to be more tents than ever!

Criteria are:

Easy/quick to pitch (Gelert was fine but quicker would be better - would come slightly smaller eg 6 man)
Good living space - kids are 6 & 3
Somewhere sheltered to cook eg porch
Storage

Budget is ideally no more than £3-400 as this is NOT a planned purchase!
If we could see one up in the North West would be a big bonus.

tunnel tents are easy to pitch. many ladies on here take kids and pitch solo. vango icarus or iris are good. for the 4 of you the iris 600 and get a canopy to go with.

Thanks. The 5 man tents are probably a bit small for us as DH is 6'1 and, after having had an 8 man for the last 5 years we are used to a LOT of space and now have a lot of kit! (although the extension option does look good).

Our previous tent as a couple and with a baby was the Vango Venture 500 which we loved but was just too small for us!

Can't tell you what it's like as it hasn't arrived yet but fantastic reduction (additional 5% discount also available) making it far cheaper than any other retailer.
Perfect layout for what we're looking for.

Ooh, do like the look of that one - a bit more than what I was looking to pay but realising budget may have to stretch a bit....

How do you get the extra discount?

On our way to Winfields now (DH driving) so will have a look.

What's the general consensus on the air tents? They weren't around when I bought my last one!

There was a link at the bottom to pop your e-mail address in to get their newsletters then a discount code came up after it.
Brought it down to £475 - loads of sites are still looking for £700+ for it.

Just leaving Winfields - more confused than ever!!!

Saw the Breton, looked good but the 2/2/2 bedroom divide was a bit small for us, having come from 4/2/2. Liked the Vango Taiga 600XL (wasn't looking for air and also massively over budget), and also the Outwell Kensington (canvas and also massively over budget)

So confused!
