Has anybody else own or has heard of Freedomtrail tents?  I have not seen any, neither can I find anything about them on the internet.  The reason I ask is that they are so hard to erect, and we seem to have a large gap at the back and not at the front.  There are metal pins to put the poles in, which are difficult to stay in when you hoist it up.  The method it says in the instructions of walking the poles to the upright position is impossible, (we have to rely on my other halfs 6ft 2 son to stna in the middle whilst the rest of us peg it in).  When its up it is great.  Nice sleeping inners, good middle area, water stayed on the outside (even in North Wales!!).  Comes down considerably quicker than it goes up.  Great to hear from any other owners, or any advice.

i have one a freedom trail grand canyon.

only used it once the worst tent ever to put up have to pull it out lke a concertina and if u got less than 3-4 people its a nightmare.  the frame poles are on the outside and as you pull it out u need someone going around the edge pegging other wise you do seem to get gaps.  i found it very drafty.  we bought ours from littlewoods catalogue last year and im still paying for it.  ill never use it again it was too much hassle for us as i cant help OH put it up so he lost his temper putting it up on his own.  i to admit it was very spacious inside and kept us dry.  i couldnt find anything on it either i searched the net last year but it is something to do with the company slumberlux.

Shelley, That's the one I had,10 berth,  we found it very easy for two of us to put up. We would start pegging it from the back end and walk the rest it up and then guy the front ,then the side guys. we would then start pegging the bottom and pull it tight and adjust as neccessary. never had any problems with draughts either, it had mudflaps all the way around. it took less than an hour from start to sitting down with a beer.

Mine is a 9 berth Montana (I think!!) and is a central dome with three sleeping pods..  We got it from Empire Stores (the last time I get a tent from anywhere other than a camping shop!!), and have used it twice for camping and have put it up about four other times.  We tried the peg-at-the-back-and -walk-it-forward technique and got a sort of snail shape.  Last year we went to Ty Mawr in North Wales and we almost had a mutiny from the lad, after it went up and down for about an hour not getting the right hight for the inners to meet the sides.  That and the gazeebo collapsing inwards (invest in a day tent this year me'thinks!!) it wasn't the best start to our camping career!!

No it hasn't.

I used to be a Scout leader so I am used to getting everything inside a tent when you KNOW that a storm is coming etc.  The kids where a little less expereinced and got dreanched a few times.  We will be back theis season!!

Better late than never suppose but freedom trail tents appear to be made by a company in Oldham called Slumbalux and the prices were very reasonablewas hoping I mite have seen a good review about them as I quite fancied their tunnel tent but maybe I will now go back to the drawing board.

I have just bought a Freedom Trail Vancouver 10 berth, put it up as soon as i got home in about 35 mins.  Fantastic tent for £99 and masses of space for us, we are taking it camping in the h/t school holidays in october. It was quite breezy when i put it together and it is absolutely huge...over 7ft tall so plenty of headroom and a bdroom that will easily sleep 8...10 maybe a squeeze.

Once it is up it feels solid, upto now i would recommend one no problem, will update the review after our trip....value for money...most definately

Well just a quick update.....following on from Dazza1971 (thats my old name) we didnt make the holiday last year due to heavy rain and the campsite being flooded on arrival.  Just got back form Anglesey this week and have to say what a fabulous tent...it was really windy and Myself, the good lady and our eldest had it up inside of 40 mins...once up it was watertight (yes it rained...boy did it rain) it withstood some of the strongest winds i have encountered at this time of year whilst others (namely Vangos) were losing there outers and was draughtproof throughout.

This is the second tent we have had and i have to say the best to date to say it cost less than a hundred pound, roomy, spacious and very sturdy...would recommend one any time.  Marks out of 10 a definate 9.5 on this occasion.
