Hi all,

I have just purchased this amazing tent at the weekend after first seeing it in August. We have upgraded from a Outwell Brampton 500 and had enough of how hot it got in summer and the noise etc etc.

The Newgate 5 has a small front built in porch but I wanted some of your thoughts.

Do Outwell make an extension for this tent?

Would it be worth getting an event shelter next to the built in porch to leave the wet coats and shoes in?

Many thanks
Nat

Hi, we have a newgate 6, love it. Brilliant tent, withstood the worse thunder and lighting storm I have ever seen. Not a single drip inside. You can buy a regency windbreak, to match the tent, be quick as there is limited stock left if you want one. But as far as I know there is no pitch or extension avalible apart from the fitted one .

Hey Leeroy! I'm made up we have this tent! So excited to go camping now.

We picked up a matching windbreak from Yeomans yesterday. Will the porch keep a small kitchen and shoes dry?

Thanks
Nat

I would say so yes, unless the wind and rain is driving head on, we bought our wind break around September time and was told they was the last few they should get hold off.
It's an amazing tent, and makes such a difference from Polyester tents.
We have only managed to use ours once but it was for 14 days so can't complain. It was the best camping whether we have ever had, apart from the one nite. Defmetly makes aa difference in the heat, kept it a lot cooler inside.

Everything has arrived today! Feel like Christmas has come early!

Did you have to weather in your tent at all?

No, we used it straight away, did have a testpitch at a local camp site to check its all OK. But we had no way of weathering it as it was dry, and we only had the pitch for a couple of hours.
We never had a single drip of water even in the worse storm ever seen in a tent.
If you feel you need to weather it then do as you feel best.
