Well looks like I've convinced the Chief Financial Officer aka Dusty Pan the Wife to bite the bullet and purchase the Vango Illusion 800. She did take some convincing especially as we normally use our caravan, an old Bessacarr.
We already have all the camping equipment from when we camped previously so will only need to add a few more items. No real big ticket items thankfully.
To be honest, the time it takes to set up tut caravan, awning, all the gubins that my CFO likes to take there will be no real set up time difference, infact it could be even quicker.
We have a small Box trailer and tow with a VWT4 Caravelle so no issues with space.
She did suggest we wouldn't be able to stop over night on our annual pilgrimage to Cornwall, but she has agreed to drive when towing the box trailer, thus spiltting the driving to gods country.
The tent has really impressed me with it's 2016 spec, 420d double ripstop material, larger airbeams and versatility with the additional add ons available.
Will update once purchased and after it's maiden voyage.

We are also the proud new owners of the new Vango illusion 800. We got it from BCH camping in Trowbridge. The service was excellent. Can't wait to set it up in the garden to weather it. Hopefully it will be more successful / not leak like our last tent.

Got the tent itself for £1085, rrp £1249.
Newbie here (hi!). Got my heart set on this bad boy aswell, hoping to go grab it in a couple of weeks.
Was the price reduction an offer at a particular place or just a successful haggle? I suck at negotiating D:
Camping international, Gillingham, had an instore offer of £1149, however this one was missing a pegging eye. This was noticed when they were pegging it out as their display model. It wasn't even inflated, just sent back to Vango, who stitched on a new eye and reinforced the others.
They then sold it to me at the discount pirce of £1085. Will all the other goodies I saved £198 intotal.
I paid full price for the tent in the end, but got 20% off the other bits and bobs I bought with it (which equated to about £50 of discount) and he threw in a free inflatable sofa and a vango promotional flag that the other half is rather excited to put up at the campsite. I'm happy to call it a win.
Picking it up on Thursday and then hopefully going somewhere local ASAP for a one night stay just to give it a test run - there's not enough room in our back garden for it!

We pitched our tent in the garden. Unfortunately the rear air beam had a leak, so we are waiting for a replacement. It was quite quick to put up, but we definitely need to practice the folding up!
