We are about to take my twins camping for the first time as they are now old enough and can't wait. In the first instance I have dug out our used once only Oakland XL - not sure of the year. What I don't have and would be useful is a front extension or awning. Do any newer tents have accessories that would fit, do you think, please?
Many thanks

Hmmm, you may need to do some legwork, checking for other tents with a front end of similar dimensions, unless you fall lucky and someone here has had the same issue and did find a solution.
The widths are both similar to my Oakland XL but I am unsure what to go for in the height as the fibre glass pole at the front is 205cm (Flagstaff) and the steel maximum height is at 225cm (Montana). I know this is very much trying to make something fit, but i wondered whether they were close enough and whether the fabric over the top of the tent would sit well?
If you can get close in terms of height and width. Of the two height would be my preference.
At that point the cheaper it is the more tolerant you will be of the gaps.
We were in a similar position trying to fit a Montana Awning onto our Florida 5.
I was playing a waiting game for the price to come down.
Thank you for the reply. I have the choice of two at different heights. One is 205cm high so would slope up to the main tent height from the front. The other is 225cm high so would be at the same height as the main tent height and above the slope. Widths would leave a 10cm gap each side.

The 10 cm gap will be noticeable but you could live with it and also when you put the frame up you get quite a bit of lee-way with the positioning of the poles and clips, etc.
You will be able to reduce that.
