Apologies if this is in the wrong forum.
We thought that before turning up at C&CC site in Eskdale on Wednesday, we had better have a trial run with the brand new Whitecove 5.
Good job we did as the first pole we tried to bend to get the pin in, split!!!
Thankfully, Outwell had included a spare pole section and after a quick repair job all went up rather well.
I intend a quick visit to Go Outdoors before we go to pick up a repair pack.
Does anyone know when Outwell started to include their 'Easy - Peg' system with their new tents? Ours has all std metal pegs. None of the snazzy illuminous plastic jobbies.
I have attempted to upload a couple of photos of the tent.

Can't help on the peg query, other than to say I'm pretty certain they were doing them when I first started looking at buying a tent, so spring 2012 at the earliest.
No idea whether they (are supposed to) do them for all models, ie your Whitecove?

Had a look at different camping shops and none off them are advertising that the whitecovecomes with the easy peg system. There is also a review on here saying that their tent came with metal pegs.
Regarding broke pole try and get hold off outwell customer service, had problems with my hornet last year the front beam is kinking a bit lifting the tent slightly at the front, the said try and take the airbeam out and put back in again but also offered to send a new slightly shorter front pole free off charge to see if that would help with the tent lifting itself.
Was even offered to pick a delivery date for it to arrive, ended up with a Sunday delivery, so can't fault their service.

The Easy Pegging System is a bit of a featureless feature, if you asked me. In practice, not actually that snazzy. Firstly, the pegs, of all three colours, are not top quality; after one season's use I had four very bent metal pegs and several shattered plastic pegs, which I had to replace. Secondly, using luminous plastic ones over black ones doesn't really make any difference, to me anyway.
Regarding the pole that split on your first trial pitch (if I understand that correctly ?), that's got to be worth a call to the retailer to try to get a replacement pole?
We, along with many others traipsed up to the C&CC site at Eskdale for a very damp Easter weekend.
Our new Whitecove performed very well indeed especially in the strong winds coming over the fells and mountains.
We were a little shocked when, after pitching the tent, we undid the toggle up curtains to find a small 6mm square hole through the front wall between the window and door!
The hole was not visible with the curtain up as both curtain and tent are the same dark blue colour.
On our return, I emailed Outdoor World Direct with some photographs and an explanation / complaint.
Within a week, with various emails back and forth, Outwell have sent a new flysheet from Denmark which should be with us by the weekend.
We have to destroy the damaged flysheet by cutting out the badges and removing anything we need from it.
Hugely impressed with OWD customer service and in particular with Amjid Parvaz. 5 Stars *****!!
