After several hours and days of searching my list has come down to 2 tents. I really liked the Kampa Croyde that Duffs has however I'm quite tall and it was a bit uncomfortable for me.
So might I ask your precious feedback please.
Vango Illusion 800 or Vermont 7SA.
Difference in price is minimum as I can get 10% discount on Outwell which I don't seem to be able to find for Vango.
Waterproof, sturdy in winds, quiet levels similar and dark bedrooms. Very spacious and both seem similar to pitch. The main difference comes from the smaller details which can be really big for some.
For me Outwell has an edge thanks to the more spacious bedrooms and the front entrance that can be flattened to avoid trip hazards and possibly damages to the tent (I have 2 young children). Also the valves regulation inside I believe helps a lot.
My wife seems to favour Vango as slightly cheaper, same space and generally good reviews. I don't mind the Vango if I am honest I just seem to prefer Outwell.
Even though the price difference is minimum I wouldn't mind more feedback please as they are both quite expensive and your experience would go a long way in helping me make a final choice.
Thank you very much in advance

Both are top tents, the Outwell is a superb design. Most of what you are looking at is subjective bit the spec of the fabric is the main difference.
150 denier for the Outwell and 420denier double rip stop for the Vango. The higher the denier generally the longer the fabric lasts.
It's very rare you will have a tube issue but all the tubes on the Vango are the same and available to buy.
I'm sure you will of seen them in the flesh but if not I highly recommend you do.

Thanks for your help Gary, Vango would now have the edge for longer lasting life :) will see them again tomorrow at a tent show, can't wait to take one home 😀

As you're only in Weston-S-M it might be worth a trip to BCH camping in Trowbridge. Get their loyalty card for a £5 and get 10% off. That way you get get the Illusion for £1125 instead of £1250. Just a thought.

Are you going to the show at the Bath and West? We were going to go but Taunton Leisure are the only camping exhibitor. Everything else is pretty much Motorhome related. And as TL weren't going to have a Vango Edoras on display decided to save my money.
Went to BCH in Trowbridge, saw the Edoras there and purchased with 10% discount.
I can't remember where I saw it but I'm sure I saw in one of the video reviews of the Illusion 800 that the lip at the front door will drop down.
Personally wasn't a concern for me either way so didn't check when I went to view it, and I won't be pitching mine for a week or so so can't check just yet for you!
Thanks mate, I have managed to find a site offering a discount also but I will check that shop as it is closer to me. In regards to the tent show yes that's the one, I have realised it is only Taunton Leisure so I have changed my mind and will go to Attwoolls in Gloucester as they have the tents on display there and it is free :)

Yes I have read a lot more reviews saying it isn't a big deal, thanks for posting though
