This is my first post and it might well be in the wrong place - apologies if it is.
I am looking to buy a used polycotton tunnel tent and I have seen a few Kampas on Ebay but often, even the sellers are unsure whether their tent is polyester or polycotton, so here here is my question:
Is there an easy way to tell the difference between a standard Kampa tent and a Classic (polycotton)...preferably by looking at the pictures on Ebay?
Many thanks in advance,
Paul.

Kampas polycotton tents tend to be a different colour than the polyester range. For example the 2015 Kampa Croyde polyester tent was grey whereas the 2015 Kampa Croyde polycotton was beige. Find out the year of the rent and then determine what colour Kampa used that year for the different versions.
I think the way to tell the difference is the polycotton ones are called the classic I might be wrong but all the classics I've seen are polycotton and yes most are a different colour

May Peak District Duke of York
May Holland Delfse Hout
June Cotton Arms Nantwich
july/aug Cornwall Pentewan Sands
And quite a few local weekenders
Yes the Kampa polycotton tents are branded the Classic version, but eBay sellers have a habit of calling things by the wrong name so just to be sure, check the colour.

Depends on the age. Our Kampa (Holkham) was not called "Classic" (they hadn't introduced that range at the time), was blue (just like the polyester version) but was polycotton. I think ours was new in 2011.
The problem with trying to buy on Ebay, is that it's unlikely (I think) that most will know the year of the tent they're selling but not to worry...polycotton lasts for yonks, does it not?
We are considering selling our polycotton Kampa Frinton 4 Classic, with front extenson. Will put it in the adverts section on here when we know what to ask for it. Haven't a clue. 😕
It's been stored in the spare bedroom, only test pitched in the garden.
We want a Karsten now, so selling everything we don't need or use to go towards it. Just thought I'd mention it as you're not far from us. We bought it the year they stopped making the frinton...but can't remember exactly. Someone on here will though.

at johnwils i would suggest if its barely been used the tent would be worth between £300-350.
at Fattybalaty if you like you can mail us at office at tentsandaccessories.co.uk with links to the Kampa's your looking at and we will be happy to tell you make, year and material :)
Ask the seller how heavy it is,if they say its bl**dy heavy its probably polycotton, If they say my 12 year old lifts it to the car on her own, its probably polyester.
Thanks again folks, you're all so helpful and it's much appreciated. I picked up a Kampa today. It's polycotton and its MAHOOOOSIVE! I'll update once I've hired a team of construction workers to test-pitch it in the garden.
I think I have the answer to my question. Next to the tent's name, if it says "Airflow", then it's polycotton but if it has a hydrostatic head rating instead, then it's polyester.
Thanks again folks!
Paul.
