My husband has advanced prostate cancer and is very weak as a result of the chemo last year. We managed to holiday for a fortnight in our Montana 6 but putting it up and taking it down absolutely exhausted us both,
So we are thinking of selling it along with the awning, footprint and carpet , and perhaps buying a smaller inflatable tent.
Anyone any advice on our proposed changes? We have a trailer which we would keep along with the chairs, beds, kitchen eqpt and loo - but want to seriously down size to a 4 berth , with no add ons!
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
Sorry to hear about your husband. Downsizing & going for an air tent will make things much easier for both of you.
We've just bought a Kampa Brean 4 Air for weekends (2 of us plus 11yr old son) as our main tent is too big for 2 nighters. We also looked at the Hayling 4 which is great with the built on porch & extra zip on door but I figured if we're doing quick weekend getaways we'll only go if the forecast is ok so don't really need the porch & the Brean only has 3 beams to pump up plus a small pole for the storm cover on the front (Hayling has 4 beams).
Both tents have plenty of room for a table & a couple of chairs in the living area & the bedroom opens up so loads of space for your bed(s) & a cupboard or whatever you prefer.
I don't own one but having seen the Brean 4 Air yesterday at the Codicote camping show, it's definitely one to consider. Polycotton, has a mini built-in porch and looks good too. It felt spacious but cosy inside.
I hope your husband continues to recover his strength, and great you are both considering continuing camping - good for body and soul.
