My partner and I are going island hopping in the Hebrides this August for two weeks. We are looking at doing a mixture of proper camp sites and a few nights of wild camping near the coast or in the hills. The majority of the time we will be living out of the boot of the car, but occasionally an overnighter into the wilds will be on the cards.
We need to buy a new tent with good interior space (so probably a 3 man) with some storage space for boots, rucksacks and camera gear.
It has to be light enough and pack away small enough so that it is able to be carried for a few miles - and sturdy enough to survive a typical British summer.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
James

I would put a Bell Tent in the car for campsites, and take a very light backpacker tent for the wild camping.
A 4m Bell Tent should be more than sufficient (5m is good, but a lot bigger pack size and weight) and something like a little Coleman Darwin 2 or 3 for the wild camping because it's green, and blends in to the countryside a bit better.
We have the Vango Halo 400 (4 person but plenty of room for 3) I would think that the 300 version might fit the bill. But you may want a tarp for cooking under when on a campsite
