Hi All
We sold our vango 500 last year after we got soaking wet and I had a tantrum and said right that's it no more camping!
Anyway a year on and husband and child are nagging to go camping again, plus they want to take the three dogs, I am compromising at two. So am I better off getting a second hand dearer tent ( worried about mildew if buying from eBay), if not, what can I get that is any good on a £200 budget. Needs a good living area to accommodate dogs and a sewn in groundsheet for no escaping! We have a Starcamper 3 which I love but it's not big enough for woofs as well. Keep going around in circles with my choices... Thanks!

You should be able to get something ok second hand for £200.

If it's on eBay check if the seller mentions how many trips the tent has been used for and for how long.

I've actually seen Outwell polycotton tents going for about £300 which may be better second hand as polycotton is less likely to go brittle and damage through UV exposure.

A new £200 tent to meet your requirements might be pushing it.

Check out nearlynewtents on ebay they have some good deals on ex demo tents that have been fully inspected before they are sold and I imagine you have a bit of come back should anything go wrong.

They've got a Vango Avington 600 Tent for £200 that may be suitable for you.

Hope that helps :-)

Agree with above, you might be able to pick up a bargain due to people upgrading their tents, try gumtree and preloved and the ads on here too.

My son got a great 6berth tent off preloved, owners emigrating and it hadn't sold so just gave it away.
