Our Olpro Martley tent http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/tents/p/OLPro-Martley-6/8/2876 failed on our last trip. Three poles snapped and stitching is coming apart in a number of places. It had only been used a few times and we were always careful during pitching (the last time it was almost as though the flysheet had shrunk about half an inch, and I don't think we were being silly). So, not going to buy that brand again and we need a new tent.
Right, new tents.
We really like the vis-a-vis design, I'd quite like poly-cotton, and air beams would be a nice-to-have (seeing as I have a problem with poles..). The only polycotton vis-a-vis tent I could find was one that is no longer available:
I'd really appreciate any views on these three tents and/or the question of how much better poly-cotton might be. If poly-cotton really is much better, then maybe we can consider a non vis-a-vis design - we just like some separation from the kids when sleeping.
In case useful, our expected usage is up to four camping trips per year with at least one being 4-5 days and the others more like 1-3 days. No winter camping but we'd like to be comfortable in April as well as during the summer.
Thanks very much!

Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
Poly cotton vis a vis are very scarce currently, I'm not aware of any new models that are on the market right now at least. The outdoor trade show is only a few months away now and there may well be something on offer for 2017 if you want to hold on.
For now though check out the Kampa Croyde 6 classic, it isn't vis a vis but it does have a great layout and it is a fantastic tent. The polyester versions you mentioned above are all good options, the Outwells are very good as is the Kampa and you get great value from the Sunncamp Sapphire which has a very good 150 denier flysheet.

Hi
We have just purchased a Kampa Daymer 8 and it had it's first outing last weekend. We really like it!
It was very easy to put up ( it'll be even faster next time as the bedroom pods are in situ and we now know what we are doing!)
Having the porch attached was good too.
Obviously there was some rain but we stayed dry. We also liked the way the backdoor has poles and you can prop it up .
