Hi just got out my tent which hasn't been used for about 5 years, its 15 years old.

While Im crawling around in it the sewn in ground sheet is flaking slightly, its not waterproof as I tested it and the water went through it!

I love this tent and don't want to give it up as the rest is ok, any ideas?

Get a cheap tarp from one of the DIY stores and use that underneath the SIG as a footprint.

I'm sorry to say it's days are numbered. The flaking is called delamination.

You can prolong it's life by using a builders tarp cut to size underneath it.

I have a much loved tent from the 80's that is going the same way, I still use it occasionally but every time I do I think it will be the last. It's my profile pic!
