Hi all, we've had our Hayling air tent for about 3 months now and we've had various different problems pumping it up with manual pumps. In 3 occasions the hand pump gas given up on us and we've had to finish off using a foot pump that's supposed to be for air beds etc. We are wondering if it might be a good idea to buy an electric pump that goes in the cigarette lighter of our car. Can we use a standard pump (around £5-£10) or do we need a fancy one specifically for tents?
Thanks in advance!

I made a purchase of the Bravo electric pump a couple of weeks ago from Gary and used it last week to inflate 4 beams on our Vango - it took 5 minutes and on a hot and sunny Dorset day it was a welcome relief. Getting on a bit now so every little helps.
I also purchased a 7amp, 12volt battery for £15 from Toolstation just to save me having to get the car in the correct position which can be difficult on a busy field. Used less than 1 volt.
I had considered a Sevylor electric pump from Decathlon but pushed the boat out for the Bravo which feels solid.

Ah really, what pump have you got duffs54?
Weve got the kampa pump it's a two stage pump action, they have upgraded it since we bought ours. Pumps it up, then the compressor kicks in for the last bit of pumping.
Thanks all, I saw the new Airgo pump last night oldn07, buts its £49 at GoOutdoors. I was hoping I'd be able to get a pump for around £15 but none of those air bed type ones are up for the job it sounds like! Thanks for your help everyone, looks like I'll be doing it the old fashioned way!!

I didn't realise you could get something like this, might consider it for next year. It is a pain having to clear everything out of the car our battery is in the back of our estate.
I have a sevlo electric pump which I used to use on my Kampa rally air.
Now have an oxygen porchlite which only needs 4 psi at max.
So I am open to offers for the sevlo it is in excelent condition and boxed.
