Hi all, looking at getting a new tent and have been looking at various tents and availability. Wanting a 3 bed as the kids are getting older and may invite friends. Would like a decent living area plus a cooking area with possibly a zipable front to protect on an evening so that all the cooking equipment isn't blown over.

Looking from £400/450 upwards. Really like the look of some of the Vango range although some that we like are now no longer available. Guessing now isn't the best time to be looking for new season tents but could get a bargain from last seasons range?

We would like a sewn in ground sheet too to keep the wind out.

All idea's greatfully accepted.

Sounds like a vango maritsa 700 would fit the bill for you.I have just seen an advert at camping world for this tent..the dis-continued steel-pole model..for £390. Worth a look --fantastic tent.

Looks like the Maritsa is sold out unfortunately but does look a great tent. Liking the look of the Vango Nadina, Orava 600 and Neva 600 but would like to see them on display first before deciding. Think we'll go to the camping show at the NEC before we decide.

Some of the Vango tents you have mentioned are great but not true 6 berth tents, you may find each double is a bit tight. The Vango Obama 600xl has been the best selling poled Vango family tent for the last few years.

How old are the kids? Mine have preferred to be in their own seperate small tent since they were 9 or 10, and certainly as young teens.

Something to consider as they grow, if you don't want a massive tent.

I guess they will be updating that to the Vango Trump...complete with a fully surrounding 6' windbreak.

At the end of last season we bought a Kampa daymer 8, it's a vis a vis design with a large central area and a porch that you can roll the groundsheet back in.
I haven't used in in anger yet but impressions of having up in the garden are excellent.

We were out walking yesterday and this came up as one of the options.

Kids are 10 and 12 which is why we originally wanted 3 seperate bedrooms. Think we'll carry on looking but also go to the camping show and then decide.

Be careful if you allow your kids a tent of their own. If they are anything like me as a kid they will be sneaking out on the town looking for mischief while parents sleep

You could always run a string of empty tin cans across their tent door...wake you up as soon as they try to escape.

Settled on the Vango Orava 600XL from the NEC show yesterday. They had the Tiago on display which is the air version of the Orava and the size was perfect for us. Got the carpet, groundsheet plus a free inflatable sofa thrown in aswell getting a good discount on the awning too plus free delivery.
