Does anyone know if the Outwell Silverhill 500 (2017) is the same tent as outwell Flagstaff 5 (2017)?
We are replacing our Outwell Oakland xl and are looking at these tents but they look exactly the same but have different names?

From what I can tell the only difference is a slight colour change... The flagstaff 5 is in their deluxe collection, and the silverhill 500 is in their signature collection. But if you check out the specs on the outwell website, there exactly the same... I dont understand it either!Everything is the same, materials, measurements, features, all the same... all I could tell was the silverhill 500 was slightly darker. Even the awnings were identical.... If you get any other information update us!

Silverhill is from go outdoors. Go outdoors rebrands outwell so the name and change colour so the won't have to brand match.

If go outdoors rebrand, why does outwell have both models on there own website?

http://www.outwell.com/en/Products/tents

Flagstaff 5 in deluxe section, Silver-hill 500 in signature collection?

But i agree the only difference I can spot is the colour and name also.

Its on their webpage because they produce then but you would only get them at go outdoors. So the crestview is the vermont, palmcoast is the whitecove, blackley is birdland, buckville is the drummond and lawndale is the rockwell

Should probably have called it renamed and not rebrand. Basically if you where to find a vermont for £1000 somewhere on else and go outdoors was selling theirs for 1100 go outdoors would the have to brand match the price with 10% so giving you back alot off money by calling it crestview and slightly changing the colour they won't have to do as its in gooutdoors terms and conditions that it would have to be the same product, in stock and same colour to do the brand match.

Thanks for the information. Just ordered the silver Hill from go outdoors. Still think it's daft to rename a product... from what you've said go outdoors price match is actually a huge scam lol.

Of course it is, as is all of Go Outdoors pricing which changes almost daily.

I have the Kalahari Elite 8. The old ones were blue. Last years one was green. This year it is blue again. Each time the porches etc disappear instantly out of stock by magic to try to make you buy newer stock. Few people are that stupid.

When I bought mine the carpet was £40. 2 weeks later I wanted a second carpet, it was £73, then £80, then £64. When they came to £57 and I had a 10% off voucher I snapped one up. A few weeks later they were £27.99. Then they were back up to £65 again.

At the moment GO claim there is 20% off everything but exclude bundle deals. It's crazy, you can buy the footprint, tent and carpet cheaper separately than in the bundle deal, even though the bundle deal lists the separate prices - at different prices to the actual prices lol!

Same with the tent - this week it is £100 more than it was last week even though it has money off.

They also claim savings against RRP including all of their own brand items. It's sharp practice to place an RRP on something you make for your own outlet because the only actual price is the price you are selling at - it cant be compared to anyone elses item because it is yours!

I buy a fair bit at GO but I certainly check things out as much as I can first. There is no real loyalty from them.

Oh, last week they upgraded my card to a silver one and gave me 15% extra discount off everything. I put a load of stuff in my basket, including another tent, added the discount code and it was rejected.

In big letters it says 15% off ALL PURCHASES. On the bottom of the leaflet in microwriting it lists all the exceptions which are pretty much everything which has any saving on it whatsoever, making the 15% totally useless. In the bin that went lol!

Would you know which one is also the Glenwood? I saw this today in Go Outdoors and was hugely impressed by it's space and layout - far more so than the Silverhill which was smaller and £100 more.

However, I'd like the option to buy the 'non-Go Outdoors' model too so that I can compare them

To be honest the glenwood confused me, but did a bit more digging. The glenwood is the flagstaff 6a which is an airbeam tent but only difference is that the glenwood is 10 cm longer and with poles, hope this helps you

It seems to be a one-off then, although there is/was a flagstaff 5.

The 6a is a different fabric, different HH, has airbeams, different bedrooms etc. ANd obviously a lot more expensive.

The Glenwood seems excellent value and looks a really smart and nice tent. Trying to decide between that or the Vango Langley 400XL for solo/weekend camping

Finally bought Outwell Silverhill yesterday, pitched the tent today, however I have a problem with the front roll back door.
There is only one toggle tie point at the top on the outside and none further down, the toggle is attached in the inside but nothing to hook it on to?
I phoned go outdoors for advice but they were no help really, I have also checked pitching videos in the event I am doing it wrong.
Can anyone who has the Silverhill advise if there should be another tie point for the toggle on the front door?

Hello, I bought the Silverhill from Go Outdoors when it was in the sale last week. I have taken it out of the bag to check and I can see that there are white patches on the underneath of the groundsheet. As a first-time camper, I am not sure whether this is anything to worry about? I'm wondering whether the groundsheet is "painted" with some sort of waterproofer and that these patches are areas that have not been "painted". I don't want to find out the hard way by getting wet on my first holiday! Can anyone reassure me?

I have looked at the outwell youtube video but it lacks a commentary. Are there any tips on how to pitch it? The cashier said poles are excluded from the guarantee, so as a novice, I'm now worried about bending or snapping one!

Thanks

Hi in reply to the cost, we paid £399 in the sale.
Keep an eye on the prices at go outdoors this is the second time that this tent has been reduced to £399.
