Hi,
I think I have narrowed it down. I feel that a canvas tent does not fit my needs that well, I think I have been a bit too overzealous with my budgets and requirements. I feel like a polyester tent with fiberglass or metal poles, would be much better for me. Thankyou all for the help like many have said I think I need to make my way down to a go outdoors and have a look. But I think I know what I want and my price range which after looking at the market prices on vango and outwell tents I think I am looking in the 200-300 pound range at the max.

Sounds good, yes, have a good look around GoOutdoors and any independent camping store near you that has tents set up.

A couple of other things to look out for;
Waterproofing level, aim for 5000hh , and don't buy anything with less than 3000hh.

Groundsheet: fully sewn in, or some tents have sewn in in the sleeping compartment and then 'linked in'. Which is fine, just slightly less bug proof in the living area.

Yep they seem to be quite good only qualm I have is the lack of that living section you have in the tunnel tents. Also the tunnel tents they do sell are out of my price range.

Non tunnel tents??? And yes, they are amazingly expensive😭

Hi, tunnel tents are manageable solo, and that Outwell Rockwell 3 is a perfect size and lots of light, with an eyebrow pole over the door so the rain does not get in.

Even easier would be an inflatable, but I am not really familiar with them ( am a canvas fan and owner of bell tent and pyramid tents, though I do have a cheap polyester tunnel tent and a zephyros 3.......... a tent for every season and occasion!)

I have the Trespass Go Further 2 and use it alone, it's 10kg so easy to put up and has a nice little bedroom and a living area with carpet - I love it

It can be got in Argos sale for about £90

IN go outdoors specials this week..Outwell Blakeley 300. Priced at £350 OR £400 with carpet and footprint. There is an offer voucher for an extra 15% valid until april 4th. That would shave 50 or 60 quid off the price.Looks like a decent tent.
