We are looking at both of these tents and are really stuck on which to go for. We're hoping this is going to suit us for the next few years. Love the space of of the vermont but worried its just a bit excessive on size and price. The Corvette feels like a better compromise but still plenty of space... but read a couple of negative reviews of the corvette and now feel a little put off that the slightly lower spec fabric etc of the AC range will prove an issue. Does anyone have either of these tents and could share their experience of them to help us make a decision please?
I think I've driven myself crazy with reading up on these now!!
We have a 7 month old, 2.5 year old and sometimes an 8 year old. We're looking at the bigger tents because we've had miserable weather the last few times we've camped and feel we just need it with the young ones to stop us going crazy!
If the Montana had the front/ wet living area bit we'd probably consider that but sadly it does not!

in miserable weather you put the young ones outside to play in the wind and rain and let them splash around and get wet and muddy and they will love it! - not cooped up in a tent - no wonder they driving you crazy!.
learn to build a nice tarp setup they can play outside under if they want and let off steam - kids love to play out in the rain!. even get them a pup tent of their own!.
instead of worrying about the tent, learn to have fun and enjoy the outdoors whatever the weather - the tent really wont matter that much then to the kids!.
its the parents, not the children as is often the case!

Both are great tents but if you are looking for a tent with a reasonable life span then look to the tents with a minimum of a 150 denier fabric such as the Vermont 7sa, Vango Rivendale 800xl and maybe tents with an even higher spec. Roughly where abouts do you live as visiting a good display with these types of tent on display should help.

We are on the south coast in Shoreham by sea. We've been up to camping world in Horsham and seen both the ones we're looking at. They don't have any vangos but they did have a couple of Kampas (the croyde and studland) which they recommended the outwells over (I think because of vents)...
The Corvette has 150 roof but 75 on the sides... would you think thats not good enough then?

It's fine as in a lot of tents are all 75 denier but it's all down to price, features and fabrics and the higher the denier the longer the tent should last.
