I have just brought a second hand outwell Montana 6, a lot of the poles have patches of rust on them, I want to spruce them up a bit as the tent is in perfect condition apart from the poles and also a few mould spots on the inner tent, nothing major really.... Could anyone advise the best way to clean the inner....I also, want to clean the poles and make them look shiny and new again, was thinking about cleaning the rust away with some wire wool and then giving them a coat of silver hammer rite! Or does anyone else have any suggestions

Look forward to your replies

Green washing up scourer for the poles and some wax based polish to protect them from further rust. Just store them dry. Dont put them away damp.
If they are too bad for a green scourer, use some wire wool. Available from most car accesory shops.

Mould spots on an inner tent maybe harder to remove the stains but a hot wash with a bleach or disinfectant should kill the spores and stop it getting worse.

It may or may not remove the stains though.

Dont paint the poles, the paint wil;l chip where thet slide together or it may prevent them sliding completely.

Wax polish or use a green scourer again (1001 uses for a green scourer)

Use the scourer on a decent sized candle and fill the power of the scourer with the wax and just rub the wax into the pole. It will seal the rust and repell moisture.
