Hello lovely campers,

Can anyone help me find a sun canopy, please? Or make suggestions about whether I can use a sail somehow instead?

I love my Cabanon dearly. It's the coffee and cream cotton canvas one, which I bought on Preloved or Ebay or similar about 3 years ago. My kids (14 and 2 x 10) put it up these days while I make tea.

I'm really looking forward to our French holiday this year, but I'd like to take a sun canopy too - I've been looking for about 3 years.

Any help would be fantastic. Thank you!

Even when I bought my Cotton 370 new in July 2008, the Sun-Canopy was hard to find, and had be ordered and made from the Cabanon factory in Dunkerque.

Of course Cabanon were on Summer shut down, so it was the end of September before the Sun-Canopy arrived at Catterick Caravans.

In the meantime I had purchased for £50 an "All Season Polyester" version of the 370 Sun-Canopy which was a Sand colour but still looked good as a match.

Of course when the Cotton version arrived I sold the "All Season Polyester" version to a member on here.

Probably the only solution will be to contact Cabanon directly at Dunkerque, they seem to respond to snail mail better than email, either that or go through a dealer if you can find one.

Price will be an issue though, and I guess total cost will be around £250!

Another option would be to contact TVS at Bolton, they are an authorised repair agent for Cabanon, and may be able to make one up for you, it only uses one hooped pole section, albiet with Spiked feet, but they should be able to source that quite easily, but it will all take time, good luck and let us know how you get on.

Francais is right; they're very rare. When we had an all-season polyester canvas Biscaya 370 we picked up a sun canopy direct from Cabanon in Dunkerque. It was around £225, if my memory serves me right. But, the pound was worth a bit more back then.

If they have any still in stock, the all-season one will fit yours (think they just have to have compatible zips). Camping Travel Store is your best bet, since Cabanon no longer supply direct to the UK market (although it might be worth dropping them an email, especially since you'll soon be travelling to France. Maybe you can pick one up in person, too?).

It would appear that Cabanon are exhibiting at the "Glamping Show" Stoneleigh Warickshire NAEC.

September 21st to 23rd.

No idea of tickets prices as there is no price given on the website, so maybe it's free entry lol!

Hi all,

Thank you so much for your help. I'll have a go at contacting Cabanon - and see if there's any chance we'll get to Dunkerque while we're away. I suspect that the Cabanon shop will be like a sweet shop... :)

Thanks!

Yep Devon Doris, I would imagine that even if they don't have one off the shellf, they may just run one up for you, there is not a lot to the canvas part.

And if they don't have the 23mm Steel Poles, then the 28mm Aluminium Poles would do the job just the same.

I recon my Cotton Sun Canopy could take a 28mm Pole.

In fact Cabanon doubled the thickness off the Biscaya Aluminium Poles from 1mm to 2mm, no doubt so that they could cope with the then up and coming Cotton Awaya range.

Worst case scenario is that they can only sort an "All Season Polyester" 370 Biscaya Sun Canopy for you, which would do the job fine.

Good luck, and let us know what you end up with. if anything.

Thank you Francais! I did think about the Polyester version instead, so I'll look into that a bit further.

I just love my tent. One day I'll get a picture up of it's glory! (My kids think I'm a little crazy. Hehe!)
