Outwell Vermont 7SA? We've got one and it's great. Maybe you should consider one.

If you want polycotton the Vango Illusions are very similar, they are also available in other fabrics.

The Vango Rivendales are similar.

Kama also do a similar range of air tents.

Cheers

We just bought an Outwell Wolf Lake 9e today. Obviously haven't had a chance to use it yet but the quality is superb and will knock spots off our old Suncamp Shadow 800.
Apparently it only takes 20mins to put up.
Anyone already got one of these? Would appreciate any tips.

Hi my daughter has just bought a Sunncamp Invadair 800 after watching various You Tube videos of inflatable tents, she decided to go for the invadair as stated above, on trying to inflate the tent today we could not get the tubes to reach the recommended 7psi with the hand pump supplied, which resulted in the tent not supporting itself, any advice on preferred method of inflation as she is a single mother with two small kids and will be putting this up by herself, this was the reason she opted for an inflatable

We've got a 2017 Outwell Vermont 7SA which is similar to your but is polyester. My top tip is to put it up before you first use it, ours had a manufacturing fault on one of the beams so it was leaking really badly. Really badly such that it couldn't retain any pressure at all. A field repair folding the end of the air beam over a few times and some gaffer tape prevented the weekend being a disaster and Outwell replaced the entire tent as soon as we got back.

Apart from that it is a great tent, ridiculously easy to put up. Taking down requires a bit more technique, have a look at YouTube videos, the best way to remove all air is to fold and then body roll across the tent, this makes it very fast to take down and pack up.

We can reliably put ours up in 25 mins, we have taken it down in as little as 15 mins but it is usually a 30 min job. It really is an awful lot quicker than a pole tent.

We intend to put it up as soon as we can, a. To check for the exact problem you pointed out and b. So we don't look like complete amateurs on site. Lol

Good to get some positive feedback as we have been umming and arring about getting an air frame tent for ages.

Can anyone advise what pressure is required for the airbeams of an Outwell Wolf Lake 9e please? The pump comes with a regulator which measures 0 to 14 PSI but I can't seem to find a recommended pressure.

Thanks in advance.
Steve.

Max pressure listed on the Outwell web page for the Wolf Lake is 7 psi/0.5 bar.

what were you doing that took you so long with the pole tent - going out for dinner between each pole?

i have both pole and airbeam tents and apart from the superfast Karsten tent, i can fully put up / take down a similar size pole tent as airbeam tent in similar time - the airbeams take longer to take down trying to get as much air out as poss, by which time poled tent is packed away.

they still all need correctly guying out and thats what takes the time, any air tent is easy to blow up - but to pitch a tent correctly involves just a tad more than just blowing it up.

And if you blow it up then you'll have to resort to a poled tent!

We have one, got ours 3years ago absolutely love it, maybe not as good a quality as the vango's etc, but definitely worth considering.

We pump it up with an electric pump to 7.5 and on the second week top it up, been in gales, storms and sweltering heat and it hasn't failed.

Some alterations needed, mesh on dividing door between porch and lounge and a split front door would be nice.

Curtains are polyester but it makes it lighter.

Yep love it.

There is a wide variety of people saying poles are quicker and others saying air beam is quicker. I can only speak from my own experience that our old Gelert Horizon 8 was much harder to put up and usually took us 45 mins compared to the Outwell Vermont air beam taking 25 mins and being a comparative doddle.

From what you are saying there must be pole tents that are much easier to put up than our old Horizon 8.

Regarding taking an air beam tent down we watched some good YouTube videos, this showed a very simple but great technique where you fold it in half three times then body roll from the sealed end of the beam towards the outlet valve. Do this twice and there is no air left in the beams then just roll the tent up. I will concede that if for any reason you cannot do the body roll then it would be a right faff getting all the air out and would probably takes ages, but with kids helping it can be done in a jiffy!
