I was online with a couple of other members when we read your post. We all came up with the same name we thought you were talking about, turned out to be wrong.
Hence my comment based on a collective assumption. Can now understand the person you were actually talking about!
I thought that's who you were thinking of, to be honest! I'm not aware he wears a mask though!
Have you met the much lauded Sir Gary of Cross? He does have the perfect face for a mask, in all honesty... but don't tell him I said that!!

Sorry to jump in with this one, but about a year ago i bought a Kampa Oxwich 5 Air, that has not seen the light of day and to be honest won't see the light of day for ages i hope (I'll explain if i have to) but how long would this last in it's brand new never been out of the box (ok bag) before.
Will it be good for 10 years or will it be in bits in 5?

I dont know how long it would last, based on my own tent (a Terra Nova Ultra Quasar) which has been used I think you could expect it to work between years 5 - 10 of its age maybe more without fuss.
Theres always going to be a natural degradation of any material, even if not used, but if its only a 5% degradation over the course of being stored for its first 5 years, it should be ok. However if its going to naturally degrade by 50% over 5 years, that changes things.
I think the best way to get an idea is to see if others are using the same or similar tent 5 years on and 10 years on.
If you are not going to use it, have you thought about selling it on?
Polyester
70 denier 12-20 weeks depending on how much sun.
150 denier 20-32
420 denier
28-40
Saying all this I've found Outdoor Rev tents last the longest due to the UV coating they put on their tents.
Poly cotton depends on how much cotton content but 40-60 weeks
This is all based on our tent display over the last 10+ years of displaying tents.
It's all very weather dependent re the UV
