Hi All
Just got back from a week in West Sussex, great weather and tried out our new Kampa Studland 8 Classic Air 2016, great tent. I have a couple of questions though.
1. When we arrived it was mega windy but managed to pitch it OK. Next day i tightened the guy lines quite a bit and this pulled some of them out of shape so i released the air (would not go back into shape by loosening) and repumped and fit the guy lines looser which seemed to work. Question is, is there a rule of thumb regarding guy line tightens on air tents?
2. I think that the mud flaps on the front of this one tuck under the separate ground sheet in the porch/kitchen area, not sure though
3. We had a fair bit of water ending up under the groundsheet and on top of the footprint which felt a bit weird, not sure if anything could have been done about this as pitch was not totally flat and water found its way between but it did get me wondering about the pegging straps, i have never adjusted these on any tent but was wondering if they serve a purpose other that to peg out i.e. do they need to be tightened on pitching tent?

Hello Leevis, we have the Kampa Croyde Classic which is a 6 berth.
On your first point, don't over tighten the guys as it does pull the tent down, put the guys out further in windy weather, but not tight enough to misshapen your tent.
When we first blow ours up to (7.5) on the inside we push the beams up as the sleeves to them are a it baggy and it helps place them in the right area.
On ours the front and side flaps do go under the groundsheet because we have a dog and I don't want him escaping, so when we are closed for the night I just weight it down with mallets or other heavy things to keep it in place, I don't during the day generally as the door is open.
The footprint seems to be a problem in these tents it was for us too. Mucker gave us the solution of folding it buy a few inches and gorilla taping it, ever since we did that no problems at all.
Ours was the same with the footprint being a few inches to large and allowing water to accumulate on it and get under the tent, as said above just fold it back slightly so it sits under the tent and you won't have the issue with water getting underneath
thanks for the info, these really are great tents and so much easier to pitch than poled tents, we previously had a Vango Monte Verde which was a nightmare.Dont really know why they just didn't put a sew in ground sheet into the porch area as we too have dogs and ended up using the side entrance the the main one this time
