After our last very windy trip to Cornwall and being worried our Coleman Octagon 8 wouldn't make it, I'm looking at a new tent that may be better suited for colder trips (Coleman is great for nice summer camping) as it's just lacking too much (no cable entry, wind blowing through the mesh, cold, hardly any hooks, no footprint or carpets available, inner tent needs to be put up first, ext...

So currently looking at the Hi Gear Oasis Elite 8 Family Tent, as it's also a larger tent like the Coleman.

Has anyone got the 2017 model and what's your thoughts? Any immediate issues or concerns with it? Anything it's missing which makes it annoying and what's the good stuff, the "I can't believe how I lived without it" moments if you like?

Cheers

Decided to buy a new tent... after looking for a while, I decided to buy the Hi Gear Oasis Elite 8 Family Tent..

Huge tent, but love having lots of space when we go camping..

So now looking forward to trying it out, even if it's local for 1 night :)

Errrr, wasn't the objective to buy a smaller wind resistant tent for late season and rough weather camping rather than just another git big tent ?

Enjoy the liveliness of the syntax.

No, the challenge was to buy a tent that wouldn't stand up bolt right like the Coleman and for the wind not to fly in under the top canvas like the Coleman..

As I bought the original Coleman 8 for the reason it was big, so would still need a tent that can fit 8 in size..

I don't know eight people, never mind going camping with them, sounds like hell in a field to me.
