So, we are thinking of moving long-term into a tent as our bedroom (alongside buildings too, so not totally removed from traditional shelter). However, the land we are on is mostly terraced or sloped.
I was wondering about the practicality of creating a level base by putting a platform on a slope. That way, we'd be on a flat surface but still able to site where we have the best view / weather exposure etc.
Anyone see any pitfalls with this plan or factors I should consider?

I obviously don't know your circumstances or why you would want to use a tent as a bedroom but if you have land why not buy a small caravan rather than a tent? It would be easy to level that depending on how steep a slope it is.

Yeah - my thought was to use pallets as we have quite a few available. We'd then add some struts for to have it level. I'm aware it has to be well (and deeply) placed to avoid collapsing or having the earth move under it.

If you want a platform them build it from the materials you have around you. Can you do a bit of digging to level the ground? The more earth you can move the easier it will be to build the platform using the pallets you appear to have a good supply of.

You will need hooks to tie the guy ropes to because you will never be able to hammer in a tent peg.

Picture shows safari tent , I think by Cabanon, on wooden platform. They seem to be popular with campsites in the Dordogne etc.
