Needs to have two separate small cabins and some height.
In cotton or polycotton.
I am attracted by the one let, one right layout found on several designs.
Frijbuiter even has a TC (polycotton) version: Aloha Duo TC.
However this does still lack the aluminium poles that I would like to have.
Any sightings or hints from more knowledgeable folks?

Can't help with your specific tent search, but that "one left, one right" design you refer to is usually/commonly known as a "Vis-a-Vis" design, which may just help a little with your google searches.
...If you had have mentioned inflatable instead of alu poles, I'd have suggested you take a look at a Karsten pod with a small link tent (or sleeping extension) to each side... but you didn't, so I won't! Shame really, as the Karsten awnings all come with alu poles!

The Bora Bora doesn't have aluminium poles, but a conventional steel frame. Nice tent though and one we've considered a few times over the years, discounting just because the bedrooms aren't big enough for our needs and the fixed bedroom dividing curtains mean you can't take one out to make a bigger living space.
