I'm after some tent buying advice please, I absolutely love camping and have been doing it for about 8 years now. We had an Outwell Oakland XL with a front porch which i absolutely loved, but last year I separated from my husband and the thought of dealing with the Oakland on my own was too overwhelming so we didn't have a camping trip all year! I cannot having another year without camping, so I need to find a tent that I could mange on my own / with help from 2 children (aged 7 & 9).
I love the look of the Royal Tucson 4 man tent with the two bedroom pods at either side then an attached porch, but the guide says it takes 2 people 40 minutes to put it up. Does anyone know of a similar design tent on a slightly smaller scale? I'm wondering if i really need a porch at all, but that's where we always cooked breakfast - what do you do if it's raining and you have no porch??
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I don't have experience of that specific tent but generally speaking a tunnel tent will be easier to erect than a vis-a-vis design. Something like a Coleman Vespucci perhaps.
If your budget will stretch try looking at air tents, no more messing around inserting poles or pulling up a heavy tent, if you choose one with a single inlet point it will do the hard work for you, you just need to peg it down.
Although I'm no longer a tent camper, my elderly husband manages alone to put our caravan air awning up in just a few mins, but no way can he still manage to handle a similar sized poled version.

The weight depends on exactly what you buy, there are some lighter weight tents out there with the airbeam set up. You have to remember that you won't need to lift heavy poles, and a lot of modern tent bags come fitted with wheels.
