They have them for £549 as a Go ‘Wow’ deal. I can’t justify it, but this tent would do the job of my Vango Kalu, Hypercamp Eldorado and Hypercamp cotton tarp, all in one.

It looks the perfect tent for me. I love the colour and style.

Will a magic tent fairy bring me one? Should I sell my other tents and buy one?

I was in GO a few weeks back and I too liked the look of the tent. My initial, possibly unfounded thoughts were, I thought the canopy was sort of a waste of time due to it's design and I did wonder how well it would stand up to some windy weather as I felt there were few poles.

I think the finish colour and aesthetics certainly drew me to it though. Have you seen it in the flesh yourself?

I haven’t. But I liked the look of it when Cross Camping previewed it in the Autumn.

How does the fabric feel?

I know what you mean about the canopy. It looks more useful as a sunshade than a rain tarp. Apparently you can remove the pole and roll it up if you want it out of the way but it isn’t detachable.

The design is clever: like a bell tent but with higher sides so more usable standing space, and no central pole issues. My Kalu has the same sort of structure, with a steel pole and two fibre supports. It is SO sturdy.

Love a bit of tent window shopping

I spotted this tent in GO's brochure and thought it looked great so went to have a nose at it last week! I didn't like it in the flesh: It's nice looking from outside, but dark inside (a bonus in the morning I guess?) and I agree with Sleeper17 that the canopy looked pretty useless against protection from rain apart from stopping it getting in the door. It is described as a sun canopy though I suppose...There isn't actually much space under the canopy because of the octagonal shape of the tent. Overall I thought it was just a bit....soulless.

The new Airgo Horizon 600TC is lovely

Thank you ShortHamstrings: although dark inside is good for me - I never sit inside my tent, only sleep, and I sit out by my fire or under the tarp if raining - you are making me feel better about not being able to afford one / justify the expense as I already have two tents that I love.

The fabric feels great. Similar to our Newgate 3 tent. It's a clever design indeed. If you get chance to "feel" and "see" it it would be interesting to hear your thoughts. I have no experience with this kind of tent myself. I liked the look but that canopy seemed next to useless as Short Hammy says.

I did really like the double door mesh panels.

Could be a design they will hone for the future?

go inside a rosewood and shut the front doors and discover that you can hardly see out - the front doors have no windows - only mesh with curtains - close the mesh curtains when its cold / windy and you can only see out through the 2 side windows. no way of looking out front unless you open the mesh or the doors!.
why do Vango insist on windowless fronts??? they did it all last year with various extensions - and rectified it this year! except they bring out the rosewood tent with this stupid windowless front door design!

But then, most bell tents have these windowless doors, Hanka.

I personally think the Rosewood looks a bit wobbly, judging from the YouTube clips (and they're indoor displays!). Not a tent I'd choose to be in, in a storm. And the canopy surely just offers a bit of door protection, rather than being effective covered outdoor space? I suspect it'd only be effective in a light shower (no wind).

Has anyone reading this actually got one? Care to comment?

I went to Go Outdoors today...whilst I did not see the circumstances of why, but the tent was flat to the floor on seeing the outside display.

In fairness this could have been any reason but staff said the wind had got up...all other tents were OK.

My initial post expressed a concern about it's sturdiness. As lidds0 asked it would be interesting to hear owners views.

Recently bought one and just come back from a very hot few days in the south west of England. Found it a lot cooler in the heat than the old nylon tent as people adjacent to our pitch can vouch for. We did have a couple of showers and we did have some rain come in just inside the door when opened, we contacted vango said can't happen it's designed not to. So now I have ordered a couple of side canopies so let the rain run off and down to the ground. As to the darkness and lack of windows we didn't spend much time in the tent apart from sleeping and that was great. Overall love the tent, when it gets breezy we rolled up the canopy but so did the campervans rolling in their side canopies.

My Rosewood review:The passage of years mean that our trusty regular Outwell Yukon 6 is becoming less needed for family holidays as it's a little excessive fo just two of us (and lengthy to pitch). Our normal Vango Omega 350, although great, seems a tad small when staying away for a week or so. This being the case an alternative 'sensible' tent was sought. Ideally I wanted steel or ally frame (I've had too many leaky airbeds to trust air frames yet) but all options seemed, well, a bit dull. Whilst web-surfing, I chanced upon the 'Rosewood' and it made me smile! Although bigger than I was looking for, the 20 minute pitch time compensated for that. My wife needed convincing so we tripped out to Thurrock Go-Outdoors to see one in the flesh. We were sold - what a great looking tent! Having just returned form a weeks camping, a few observations. It's easy to pitch but the supplied instructions are rubbish! Watch the videos online to see how to do the job. If not 20 minutes, we can certainly do it in 25 minutes inc all guys. The built in extension is a little style over substance - it'll not really shelter you from much. The poly cotton material and assembly seems to be of high quality and the tent certainly has impact on the campsite. Watch opening the doors in the rain - you need to be careful to avoid a bit of water dripping in. I'd suggest full guying is necessary, I'm not sure how the Rosewood will cope in very windy conditions. As with all tepee style tents, cooler nights do mean that the tent does not keep as warm as a conventional frame tent - closing the lower vents does help though. These things aside, this is a magnificent tent for two wishing to glamp it up a bit!

BTW - we paid £499 at Go-Outdoors
