Hi. I have managed to snap a section of pole. A repair kit of new sections etc. is on order. I was wondering if many other folk have had problems with these poles ? The alloy seems very brittle, with the break point very sharp and jagged. The tent has only been out a few times, and am otherwise quite pleased with it. Comments please ?
Thanks,
Mike.

Update.... The broken section was barely an inch long (metric not spoken here). Sooo I carefully split the piece along it's length and removed it from the inner elastic. With a fine grindstone and being ultra careful not to catch said elastic, I ground the remaining end smooth. Albeit an inch shorter, the pole once threaded through the fabric is still a perfect springy fit !
I should have tried this BEFORE ordering the repair kit. I would have saved myself £23. I will at least have spares for any future snappages.
Hopefully, the above is of help to some.
Mike.

Great little tent, I have had both the 200 and the 300 Tornado. Can honestly say I never had any pole issues.
Although as you will know ,you have to be careful with the two longer poles.
Possibly a weakness in the alloy pole itself.Very expensive to replace though.
Did it not come with a repair kit which includes a small length of alloy pole which slides over the existing pole where the damage is.It can work for a while using this repair method.

Thanks for your post VangoMan. Red faced dept.coming up... I've got to admit to not exploring the contents of the repair bag - I've only had it 5 years ! Low & behold, the small length of alloy tube to slip over a break. Doh !!
I await delivery of the repair kit, but in the meantime the 1" shorter pole is fine.
I still have and use my Vango Force Ten tent. 41 years old this year. All it has had done to it is one coat of Fabsil a while back and the rubber loops changed. Good as new ! Quite impressed by Vango quality !
