I hope someone can offer some tips for getting my tent clean. I’ve read all the stuff in the old threads but nothing much is working.
I’ve bought an old Outwell Montana 6 in otherwise good condition, but the whole tent has a lot of black on it, whether this is old mildew or dirt.
It’s been up in the garden for two days and been washed outside in a solution of Milton as recommended, and well rinsed many times.
When dry it looks a little better as this has also shifted the dirt as well. But from the inside, the roof panels look really speckled as does bits of the green wall.
It’s the grey that really looks bad. I’m currently washing the whole exterior again with the tent cleaner from millets, nikwax, but at doesn’t seem to make any difference.
We are going to try to clean the inside with Milton too but this will be a lot harder to rinse off, so it might have to be just water.
I’ve put the bed pod through the washing machine after soaking it in Milton and it has come up a bit better but still needs work.
Can anyone offer any advice?
I’m going to rewaterproof it with fabsil on Saturday, which leaves Sunday for everything to air and dry, before packing it away before our trip next week. So in the two days what else could I try!
Thanks!
