Our youngest is now mid-teens and the rest are adults and we can no longer squeeze 5 sleeping mats across the 4-man bedroom of the vango vista 800.
We have always camped fairly lightly and have, until the last couple of years, been able to get all our kit for a weekend into the boot and roofbox of a zafira so all 7 of us could fit (snugly) in to one car.
Those times are past.
We have resigned ourselves to 2 car camping when we are all together (esp as they often bring a friend of partner) and plan on letting the offspring have the trusty vista while we treat ourselves to something a little heavier, just for the two of us.
I camp with Girlguiding (icelandics and tarps) and think that a full canvas is more than we need, but have never owned a polycotton.
So we're looking for something just for two of us which will fit a decent mattress for my aging joints, polycotton, perhaps unusual (it's a treat after all), must be able to stand up. I looked at a rosewood but didn't like the fact that it didn't have a completely zippable bedroom, but rather a curtain.
I have no idea where to look from here. Does anyone have any suggestions?
We're not millionaires but as this will likely be my last tent I'm not going to be constrained by budget! Please, lend me your expertise.

What about the robens klondike range, or blacks solice 2, gelert also do a polycotton tent which won't break the bank. Well it would my bank anyway

I think that I'd rather have a zip in or sewn in groundsheet and a full bedroom (even if it's just netting).
They all look great though, just not 'the one'.

I think the klondike has a zip on ground sheet and an inner to buy seperate?
Zip on ground sheets are the best, mine came in last weekend, while taking the tent down in the rain, unzip, put the tent in one bag, put the groundsheet in another, and dry out with ease at home

For that kind of money I'd go for the Cabanon Guadeloupe. Quick and easy to pitch, high quality, pack size and weight not too mega and ideal for a couple. Yes, it's cotton canvas, not polycotton, but at the current price it's too good to ignore.

It has a dividing curtain rather than a separate bedroom inner which I used to consider a compromise but, then again, but not having to install an inner saves on pitching time, volume and and weight.

One side of the front can be rolled back. The doorway can have the top part open, stable-door style.

I think the price of these will escalate substantially next year. There's always a strong market for used Cabanon pyramid tents, if you don't take to it.

You can get a fully zipped in inner for the Robens Klondike Grande Tipi, which has itself a fully ZIG. I like the look of them as they have a door that looks tall enough not to stoop through.

And have a look at the tents on canvascamp.com . Search ‘cabin tents’ . The Roman Deluxe and Patrol tents (SIGS) have an optional inner tent.
