Ok, so got a great tent with a linked in GS in porch. My question is, if I measured a groundsheet for under the inner so that I could attach it with some strong plastic pegs approx an inch up under the fly, let the gs arch up an inch or so then down to the ground under the inner, in what way wd that not work? I'm not talking about condensation - I understand that, just to warm n draught proof it slightly, not unlike a sewn in GS. I'm asking cd that damage the fly, just 1 inch at the bottom and even if it caused capillary osmosis whatever wd that really matter an inch off the ground? PUG - Pegged up Groundsheet. Lol. Seriously tho.

Could you not just buy some heavy duty hook and loop/velcro and use between the toggles to ease the draughts,
I'm not sure what you mean. The porch GS is linked in so fine. It's under the inner I mean so means attaching cut to fit GS to the inside of the fly which won't work with Velcro... ? 🤔😊

What I'm saying is pre-cut a GS to size with enough slack, pitch the fly, lay out the GS under the inner space, go out n peg the GS upside down (maybe 4 pegs to each 3 sides) to the inner edge of the fly, smooth it n pitch the inner.
What I was asking is if say 1 or 2 inches of peg wd damage the fly n in what way that wdnt work like an optional Sig when it's cold.
But really it's a bit hard to explain in words n I think I'm just gonna try it! Cheers 😅😎
I've tried to research it best I can, but although I know we put out like a litre of breath or so in potential condensation each night, it feels or seems to me like a cold damp comes up from the ground too on cold damp nights, n I can't really find any confirmation on that. I know a tent needs to be ventilated, but if you have upper ventilation, I'm not sure you need the ground + gaps when it's cold. Dunno.

And finally from me for now I wish they'd make cheap but great tents with the short under sides on the fly n linked in GS through the whole tent n not just the porch. Don't like sigs really, like options. Guess options are what cost. Having said that it is fun finding ways round. 🤔😊
Are you saying your tent has mud flaps and a loose groundsheet, rather than a SIG or ZIG, but you want to extend the loose groundsheet up the walls of the tent a bit, then sit your bedroom inners on top?

I think it was kampa ones I first came across when I had the Royal Pescara but they went out of stock.
